Dionna Manning
Executive Director of Student Engagement

"From the students to the faculty and staff, and to the administration, we are a large campus with a small feel. We know all of our students personally. They’re not just a student number, we know them and genuinely care about them. Seeing firsthand the support and care we show contributing to the success of our students makes ECU a unique campus with a personalized touch you can’t get anywhere else."

Kalen Lancaster
Counselor Education ’27

"ECU has helped me prepare for my future in so many ways. The biggest is allowing me the opportunity to work and assist so many different departments and programs on campus as well as allowing me the experience working with college athletics and student-athletes."

Cameron Pettigrew
Elementary Education Alumna

"ECU has had a tremendous impact on my career! As a first grade teacher, the skill set and knowledge I entered my position with comes solely from ECU. The classes I took, the internships I was placed in, and the experiences I had came from the people and students I worked with during my time at ECU. Jennifer Adams, Julie Stanley, and Angela Novak were some of my favorite professors that I had the chance to learn from, and I am so thankful for their guidance and the knowledge they passed onto me!"

Treshawn Penny
Science Education Alumnus

"ECU has best prepared me in understanding how to apply the most contemporary and research-driven science pedagogy. Many people tell you what should be done, however, the science education faculty at ECU showed me how science should be done in our public schools. This has truly set me apart at many professional development sessions that would be truly enriching for most, but are instead reaffirming for me."
